Urbanized is a project that grew out of my love for the abandoned and decayed places of the world. Since about the year 2000, my goal is to document man-made sites that will likely not exist for much longer and would otherwise be forgotten due to lack of interest and funding for preservation. In addition, some sites simply would not be documented due to prohibitions against entry by the liability-conscious.

Some sites have basic historical info added to their set pages, while others are left intentionally vague -- I am acutely aware that by publishing photos of some sites I am opening those sites to the possibility of increased traffic and vandalism.
