What exactly am I trying to do here?

The photographs here generally fall into two categories - pictures, and snapshots for my own amusement and reference (most of which are reserved for family and friends).

The pictures are becoming a little bit of an obsession.



With the pictures I make, I'm trying to record the moments when something I'm generally over-familiar with or unsurprised by becomes strange for an instant. Or when someone shows me something they didn't intend or that only exists because of some accord, intentional or otherwise, that exists between the two of us for a breath or two.



This is as much a relationship with things as people.



Comments

I really, really appreciate your comments - I'll always try and have a look at any commenter's pictures. If I like something, I'll try and say why. Please don't be offended if I steer clear of "Post one, nominate five" type groups, however. THat's just me.

A note on comments and blocks. My family (and some children) look at my photos and I'll block commenters with content that I really don't feel like explaining to a young child. I'll also block "favourites" where I feel that the subject of the photo would be unhappy for any reason. Context - I've done this precisely twice and not at all for the last year.

Saying "This photo is worthless/out of focus/boring - give up!" is perfectly acceptable, of course.

Is this a form of censorship? No - it's me managing my personal space.
