Photos: When it comes to photography the honest truth is that I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I own two cameras, one is a compact Cannon Power Shot Digital Elph and the other is a larger Cannon that confuses me even more than the little one does. I purchased the larger one because it runs on batteries and because, at times, I’m known to be a compulsive buyer of electronics.
Digital Art: On occasion I will sketch something on whatever’s around, take a picture of it, and then mess with it in Photoshop.

"I can't believe it's been over a decade since I first heard Matthew's voice. Every song has been music to my soul ever since. I can't really explain it, but he captures his fans in an all encompassing way. Somehow you feel like you 'know' him. I'm proud to say my son is a fan too, and I find myself cracking a smile when he's played Alert Status Red for the third time in a row. It's not just about music. I felt a sense of relief in knowing mental illness was a common thread. Having that awareness has been a true gift. It's helped me be kinder to myself. Thank you!
Cheers to an awesome human being. :)"13th February, 2009

"I have never met Matt but I believe he is so incredibly talented... he is an amazing writer..he is inspiring, he has strong views and is not afraid to share those views, he speaks from his heart and he is so full of knowledge. He is a great activist for what is right in this crazy world. All around Matt is a person I would want to be friends with..someone I would want on my side. Matt is AWESOME!"

"One of the most underrated writers/artist of the X & Y genaration.
With words and music, alone; has painted a perfect picture of what it meant to become a young adult in North America during the 90s and new millennium.
The man that brought us astronauts into our bedrooms, and then made the walls cave in, making being cynical so freaking cool.
Matthew Good, a true artist for the history books.
but, "i heard Matthew Good was a real asshole""5th September, 2008

"A man of many talents. One of the finest musicians of this age. I admire him most for his ability to cut through the bullshit veneer of western politics, society and culture and expose the dark, sinister mechanisms that operate behind the scenes."

"Having never met the man that has been to hell and back with me, I can't really say too much without sounding trite. His ability to express raw emotion through a wide variety of artistic means is extraordinary. The tuning fork of my innermost self comes to life when I listen to his music. I love that man, and I pray in my own godless way everyday for him. It's the least I can do...."

"Matt Good, is just plain Good. There's no hypocrisy with the name. Love him or hate him, you gotta admit he's good.
Plus, the man signed my guitar. Now that's good."12th March, 2008

"Matthew Good is kind of like that weird artsy kid in high school you thought was going to grow up and commit suicide. Yet, this man parades on like a wounded horse that, no matter what, will not give up until he's home. Between his music, his photography, and the never ending waterfall of creativity that flows from this man's life, you can't help but know he's someone you won't forget."

"Very few times in your life you will see/hear/meet someone who can change your entire world. On a dark night, not that long ago.. I was swept away to a blissful place and in that night his music became a soundtrack for my soul. I don't know him on a one on one level, yet I feel like if we sat and talked it would be like seeing a old friend again after a long time.
He is compassionate, intelligent, beautiful, tortured and most of all he is a prism of complex views and feelings. Calling him friend would be a privilege but being a viewer into his life and soul is a honor."16th January, 2008

"It's completely weird to write a testimonial about someone you don't know- So I will testify to the things I do know. I do know that I have self- claimed number one fan status to Matthew Good for 12 years - Own every Cd ever produced in Canada - Named my cat Rico (yes.. I know..) and get completely overwhelmed, blown away and pleasantly surprised at every new release. There is no one I have seen out there like you Matt- no one who I have encountered who interacts so much with fans and ACTUALLY takes time enough to write back to us- It makes you more human, it makes the things you fight for and believe real to us, rather than crazed publicity stunts performed right before you head back home to your eight Escalades.
Congratulations and a FANTASTIC job with Hospital Music, and may I just say - Thank you."29th October, 2007

"Having never met Matthew Good, he is well on his way to help make a difference in the world. A poetic masterpiece in every song. Every emotion is heightened with his lyrics and the stories behind the music are relative to many people sharing the same points of interest and everyday experience. Although he is in no way compared to other artists, the words he sings are clear and precisely to the point. Simplicity and sincere in every way, making him a human being, being human! Simple! Thanx be to you Matthew Good!"

"He is beauty personified when he closes his eyes.
An artist and philosopher within his own rite
Honest, kind, and charitable -gives of himself more than humans should.
This is the new realm's Minstrel -fair- known as Mr. Matthew Good.
Spirit through purest voice -quiet confidence and flare
An absolute uniqueness when no one else would dare
Intelligent, bright, and darker still -wandering willows that could.
Who can be said to have a greater mind than that of Matthew Good?
(He's too amazing)"31st August, 2007

"Fell in love with the Strange Days Video when I was about 10, but didnt really bother to look up the artist. Bought White Light Rock and Roll Review and couldnt stop listening to it. Went back and bought a few more CD's and fell in love. After discovering his blog I got a chance to see the man behind the inspiring and beautiful lyrics and was amazed at his passion surrounding human rights and the mess we're making of our world. A truly talented artist and amazing person."

Abstract Magdalene says:
"A haunting, yet haunted man. Worth more than the over-used and often misunderstood term “inspirational”, in a fresh, new light.
His music and art educe strong feelings in the believers and non-believers. Good maintains a symbiotic relationship with his art and music, making it tangible for anyone who stands still for a minute.
If we were in the dark, I’d give him the flashlight.
Why? Because he’s just another man, looking for his own piece of mind but at least he‘s honest about it. That, and he’s got a sense of humour that rocks my socks off. That is what makes one appreciate him."20th November, 2006

loves vcr says:
"My personal experience with Matthew Good has been like a long hallway with a series of doors. It started at door one - a song heard on the radio that lead me to an album, followed by several more. But the hallway didn't end where it appeared. Around the corner was an escalator that took me to a whole new level...where I learned inner thoughts, political views and how complex he really was. That he ached for human rights and fairness to all people. That he loved his animals like most can't love people. And that he felt deeper than many who only scratch the surface.
It's like each time he peels away a layer something new, exciting and sometimes worrying is revealed - Matthew the aspiring artist, the photographer and the compelling storyteller. The one down in that hole who comes up for air sometimes.
Some is fact, some is fiction. It's up to us to decide...only he knows for sure.
Fascinating, inspirational and beautiful. That's Mr. Good."4th October, 2006

"Listening to his music and reading his political thought, I wonder why more people don't pay attention to serious music and serious thought.
Having met him and talked to him I can tell you that he is what you see, and what you read, and what you hear.
He is one of the most honest souls I have met."3rd October, 2006

"Despite the fact that I own a t-shirt that accusses him of being an asshole, the few times I've met or interviewed Matthew Good he's been nothing but a decent fellow. His music has always meant a lot to me, but more than that the connection that he allows his fans to have with him has always impressed me greatly.
That he has allowed us to watch his first steps into web design and now graphic design is really brave. In a world where rock and roll music is now as much about having the right public image as the perfect chords in a song, that's kind of amazing.
Oh and the pictures? They're pretty damn awesome."6th August, 2006

"Somewhat unfairly, a gifted photographer in addition to his better-known skills in music and prose writing. If there's anything Mr. Good doesn't excel at, I've yet to see evidence of it. Bastard."
