Twiy is a Child of the 80’s who watched far too many cartoons (Heman, Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, Bravestar) as a youngster. He spent all his pocket money on skateboard stickers and copies of 2000AD and began religiously drawing Street Fighter characters at around 9 years old, homing his skills with a pencil and acquiring an attractive lump of hard skin on a finger in the process. Twiy’s ability was recognised at a young age and he was rewarded with a steady stream of double stars (the highest possible mark) for his artwork at primary school.
Upon beginning secondary school in ’93 Twiy was introduced to the wonderful world of graffiti by the bigger boys, and began furiously sketching faces and tags in class when he should have been paying attention. Twiy was ruthlessly punished on many occasions for his new found passion, having to clean tags and doodles from chairs and mirrors as well as pick chewing gum off the under side of tables… but he wasn’t fazed.
Skip on a few years and Twiy went to University to study design but it was the University’s location, in the heart of the East end, that really inspired him. Choosing to specialise in illustration and picking up some graphic design skills in the process, Twiy’s work is the end product of years of doodling. His illustrations are based on the people around him, events in his life, his sense of humour, his attitude, or can just be things that happen unconsciously as he draws. The development of his style and characters is the never-ending process that drives Twiy to continue drawing, painting and generally making marks with things to see what the end result is.

Kelly Wisker says:
"Alex is tall and a massive ginger...
he draws pretty, but strange pictures which makes me think he was touched as a child...
All his characters have no winky or twinkle...which makes me smile"30th November, 2007

Nils Jawa says:
"Despite the obvious handicaps of being tall and an egomaniac TWIY has successfully managed to survive in society. All should hail his autistic drawing ability and sterling sense of humour.
Give this man your money. Give him the money you owe me. And then get him to give me all the money he's got."26th September, 2007

Brandon Page says:
"Alex is a top notch cat. I think he eve draws in his sleep.
Very few people have this much creativity flowing freely. I am glad to have him in my circle of friends.
The End"18th September, 2007

H I C K S (54) says:
"Twiy is about 8ft. tall with eyes that burn with a hellish fury. His hands are twice the size of ordinary men’s hands and are so heavy that they often break whole tables in two. His chest is like the front end of a truck and he cannot be hurt by conventional weaponry. Too large to fit in a car, he instead has taken to riding a steam powered traction engine whose furnaces are stoked by his many beautiful concubines, He also paints pictures."
