Kjære publikum,

Trondheim kommunes arkiv befinner seg rent fysisk i lokalene etter den tidligere ubåtbunkeren DORA 1. Arkivmaterialet favner både vidt og smalt, som seg hør og bør i en norsk storby. Alt i alt har vi over 20.000 hyllemeter med dokumenter, protokoller og papirer som spenner over en periode helt fra ca. 1760 og fram til i dag.

Her presenterer vi noe av det vi har i arkivet, og inviterer herved publikum til å komme med for eksempel kommentarer, forklaringer, transkriberinger, notater og tags (søkeord).


Det kan også være av interesse å se vårt materiale tilgjengelig ved Digitalarkivet. Her har vi både søkbare registre og skannede protokoller man kan bla igjennom. Blandt annet kan nevnes:

- Trondhjems Brannretts inntekter og utgifter (1768 - 1828)

- Søkbart register over vaksinerte i Trondhjem (1802 - 1820)

- Oversikt over fangetransport gjennom Leinstrand (1823 - 1845)

- Tvangsarbeidere i Trondhjem (1850 - 1867)

- Søkbart register over studentene og deres karakterer ved Trondhjems Tekniske Læreanstalt (1870 - 1914); den kommunalt initierte og opprettede forløperen til NTH (opprettet 1910), som i 1968 gjennom sammenslåingen med Den Allmennvitenskapelige Høyskolen i 1968 ble til Universitetet i Trondheim - fra 1996 kjent som NTNU

- Den kommunale folketellingen i 1925

The municipal archives of Trondheim are located in the former submarine bunker DORA 1, where we store over 20.000 shelf meters of documents, protocols and papers documenting the municipality and it’s inhabitants history in a wide variety of ways; ranging from the 1760s until today.

Here we present some of our material from the archives, and hereby invite the general public to investigate, comment, explain, transcribe and tag what we publish.

You might also be interested in seeing some of our material which is already available at the Digital Archives (Digitalarkivet), which perhaps is most known to be one of the best resources in Norway when it comes to genealogical research. Some of the series we have available at the Digital Archives are:

- The fire court of Trondheim’s income and expenses (1768 – 1828).
This source shows the fire court’s rulings as to who would receive fines; for instance by irresponsible building of chimneys, and also who would receive rewards for spotting fires and bringing water to the fire site.

- Searchable register showing who was vaccinated against smallpox in Trondheim (1802 – 1820)

- Searchable register showing the prisoner transport through the former municipality of Leinstrand (1823 – 1845); since 1964 a part of Trondheim municipality.

- Forced labourers in Trondheim (1850 – 1867)

- Searchable register showing the students and their grades at Trondhjems tekniske Læreanstalt (1870 – 1914) – this school is the direct predecessor to the Norwegian Institute of Technology (est. 1910); which in 1968 merged with the Norwegian College of General Sciences and became the University of Trondheim. In 1996 the University of Trondheim transformed into the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
