My name is DonClark Williams, and I am The Simple Chef®.Since my mother asked me to open a can of green beans and put them on to cook when I was 8 years old, food has been my passion. The kitchen became my sanctuary and at the elbow of my grandma Ruth I learned the secrets of baking hot biscuits and corn bread.'frying chicken, the formula for grade A barbecue and potato salad. In the tiny Kansas town of Dodge City, my grandmother taught me to make jams and jellies and what is now a signature product, Christmas In A Jar apple butter. A spread so rich with cinnamon. cloves and allspice and five different apples, that just opening a jar reminds us of a snowy Christmas morning. It conjures up the smells of fresh bacon cooking and buttermilk biscuits hot out of the oven. If you didn't want to slather it on a biscuit or piece of toast you can eat it straight from the jar.
