Bout 18 years ago I got lost on the American continent. I am from Stuttgart Germany sort of. My father is an engineer and we spent our childhood all over the planet. My dream is to travel and see the rest of the world. Waiting for my son to move out, so soon after I’ll be selling the house and become a globetrotter.
Photography has been my hobby since my father got me a camera on my 15th b-day, that was an Olympus since then went to Minolta, then Mamiya and Nikon. I love large format but don’t really have the patience to use it very often. Would like a digital-back one but have u seen the price on that?!?!?!?! I could live on that for a year!!!!!!!
I went to college for art photography and therefore making my living as a bartender. The darkroom had its moments but it is … once again … I’m not the most patient person here. Studio photography can be a lot of fun. Usually I come up with ideas write them down and then try to figure out how to shoot certain things. I just got some lights and soft boxes, this year, before that I used two sb800, what a difference!!!!!!!
Right now I got a D300 … loving it upgraded from a d70 and a d70s [I have two, cause need them for weddings my bf shoots with me], mainly because I wanted more frames /sec. I do shoot weddings, not too many, not a big fan of the album thing and I’m not really made for the marketing arena. But the equipment has to pay for itself somehow!!!!
My other hobbies include: Skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading, climbing, mountaineering, Photoshop, painting [oils and acrylics], I just bought a miter saw and am having fun with that … not sure if that’s a hobby though?!?!?!?!!!!!
