helen doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up.

originally from greece, she spent her childhood years in canada and the u.s. reading science fiction and sitting on the roof peering at the stars. when she learned that she was too short to fit the astronaut's suit, and as starfleet was not yet an option, she returned to athens and studied architecture to make the most of her skills in art and science. she didn't fall in love with it, though, so she started to look for ways to branch out into variations on the theme.

she eventually managed to combine her interest in computers, her flair for teaching and her need to be creative by using, and helping others learn to use, CAD, writing textbooks, contributing to the olympic games in her own corner of expertise and dabbling in photography.

helen wonders where we (humans and co.) came from and where we're going. she likes reading about science, astronomy, evolution and philosophy. needless to say, she's useless at chitchat.

her daughter finds it hard to tell friends what exactly mom does, so she cycles through: architect, teacher, author, cad manager and photographer. little does she know that, when she eventually grows up, helen wants to be just like her.

"Undoubtedly the absolute queen of bokeh. It would be far too easy just to treat Helen's stream as a pure sensual pleasure, and lie back, allowing yourself to be swallowed by the softness, colour, glow, sheer deliciousness. Oops, I think I did ... But that would be selling the huge subtlety and thoughtfulness of this lovely work badly short. I love how you fill a frame - the solicitous details you pick to highlight, the swirling darkness, and light, you bathe them in. You make the mundane absolutely extraordinary - a true talent to aspire to.

"Ask me three of the most creative photographers here in flickr and Helen will surely be one of them!

Her works are simply spell binding! Prepare your "Ohhs" and "Ahhs" because you will be amazed and bewildered by her extra-ordinary works!

Am proud to say that she's an inspiration and ... yes, I have bookmarked three flickr sites and one of them is hers!"

"There are just so many of Helen's pictures that make me think 'I so wish I'd taken that'. At the risk of sounding repetitive Helen is definitely someone who inspires you to want to take great pictures - unfortunately that's not always achievable, unless you are naturally talented like Helen ;-)"

"I appreciate Helen for her photography and her artistry…

But I really like her for her mind, how she thinks and how she sees."

"Helen is a woman of profound strength, and that strength resonates through her artistry to impact the viewer. Using deep, rich colors and an eye for details and scenic settings, she pursues and captures beauty with each frame. Her compassion as an artist and a friend only strengthens her gift behind the lens."

" I've been wanting to write this to you for a while now. You are an inspirational photographer Eleni. Your photostream has such a diverse range of images, always experimenting with different effects and programmes. You're truly a great artistic photographer with some interesting and beautiful images.
Any one who hasn't seen Eleni's photostream should take the time to look through it and enjoy. You will also learn some things about the different effects you could create.
You have helped me with my experiments too and you're always there with your sincere comments and or critiques. You are a true flickr friend and I sincerely thank you.
