My name is Tom and this is my shed. My shed is a metaphor . . . it's my retirement haven . . . it's in the mind . . . it's a way of thinking.

Flickr is world of metaphor where myriad streams rush and eddy towards a collective ocean of light and colour. When my flickr photostream enters my virtual shed metaphors mix, incoming thoughts and images fuel personal energy, and my shed becomes a creative water-mill. My photostream is turbulent, its energy is unpredictable; my energy source ebbs and flows, it can be difficult to harness. When metaphors mix my shed turns into a beach, and work becomes play.

I'm a beachcomber. I collect, I sift and sort and try to see beauty in this strange and contradictory world of ours. I'm trying to synthesize a shed load of ideas and images into coherent narratives. I'm trying to make sense of myself and the world around me.
