to be able to create the mystery and the magic like he does is a very rare and awe-inspiring talent. each of his works is so full of feeling, so telling, so delicate, that describing it stretches beyond words. he captures the zeitgeist of our days with such immaculate self-confidence and precision, and nevertheless remains one of the most soulful artists i know. that delightful sentiment he creates is always there - in his amazing portraiture, in shots as everyday and ordinary as that of a cat in a dark alley or a bird on a concrete fence; or images of street signs and strangers in the underground - what he paints, what he knows so well is the heart of the city - dark and gloomy but always so full of life.
