Hi, I'm Tom Gurney. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my photography.
I began my journey with photography in 2008. I had never really used anything but a disposable camera until I inherited a Minolta SLR film camera with a few lenses. I was excited to express my love of Nature through photographs of the incredible beauty I have witnessed throughout California. The only thing my pictures were able to express was my lack of understanding with photography.
I was determined to learn the "tricks of the trade" so I began to read and study the works of photographers I admire. There is a wealth of information in books, on the internet, and friendly folks I have met in the field. I began getting better results more frequently, and as I continue to work on my skills, I am able to capture images that serve as visual remiders of very special experiences for me.
So, feel free to browse around and tell me how you feel about my work be it positive or not. I'm still learning and appreciate all comments. I enjoy viewing work of other photographers here and will try my best to leave feedback as well.
I am now using a Nikon D90 digital SLR camera. My lenses include: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6, and Tamron 200-500mm f/5-6.3.
I am working on a website, where I will soon have prints for sale as well as photographic services.
