Todmorden Information Centre Trust was formed in 1987 and the Centre opened in 1988 to provide a service to the people of the town and visitors to the area.

The Trust is managed by an independently, with representatives from Todmorden Council and representatives from the local community.

We are fortunate to have permission to use the Town Crest on a range of goods for sale and always have a good selection of books and other items on the local area, especially about Todmorden.

The Centre has mounted several important exhibitions in the town and encouraged local artists, authors and poets to produce information for residents and visitors so that they may understand and enjoy our town.

In 2005 Calderdale MBC decided to withdraw the funding for the staff posts, but, following a petition and support from local people and politicians, this decision was rescinded.

Unfortunately in 2006, Calderdale again proposed a cut in funding and so financial support was withdrawn in September 2007.

The Trustees are worked hard to secure an alternative source of funding to ensure the work of the Centre in providing valuable information for locals and visitors will continue and we are grateful to everyone for supporting us, especially to Todmorden Town Council for their generous grant.

We are proud of our record of activities in serving Todmorden and providing visitors and local residents with a focal point for all that the town has to offer.

The Trust has every intention of continuing, on behalf of everyone, to keep Todmorden on the map.
