Born in East Yorkshire, my interest for photography began at school. I then studied graphic design at The Hull College of Art & Design and, in 1979, began my design career in London. I now live and run my own design consultancy in Buckinghamshire and try to devote most of my free time to photographing the landscape.

"The landscape and photography are very important to me. There is a sense of magic outdoors. Our variable weather creates so many different moods and feelings in the landscape. The changing light reveals patterns, shapes, tones and textures that may go unnoticed if we don't spend time discovering and exploring them. I love this experience. Being able to share this with others, through photography, is something that I cherish. I want to raise people's awareness and appreciation of the landscape with my photography.”

More recently I have been using a Zero 2000 pinhole camera which is basically a wooden box (albeit in beautiful mahogany and brass) with a pinhole and no viewfinder. As you can imagine, this can make composing a bit of a challenge! The camera also has a fixed aperture of f138 which can result in exposures from one second to a couple of hours.

I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and a member of the prestigeous Arena Group of Photographers.
