Did you ever screw up a group shot with 60 people on it? Did you ever miss the handshake-shot on a donation event? No? Ok than you are either a pro or a lucky guy...

I got into photography by necessity: I liked taking pictures all the time, but stumbled into the business by accident. In my civilian service (alternative to military service in germany) I somehow found myself as a press photographer for a huge charity organization with lots of events going on that needed press coverage. After a year doing that I learned how to control a camera and a bit of what makes an image work and what doesn't. Since then I am mainly a generic hobby-photo guy who takes pictures for fun or does some little projects like covering a wedding, making pictures for websites or just doing shootings with interesting people that need photos for whatever purpose...

Equipment used: I've got access to pretty everything a boy can dream of :-) Most of the time I work with the Nikon D200 and prime lenses like the 50mm/1.4 and my favorite 28mm/2.8. Recently I am trying to get into artificial lighting (strobist-like) and use a couple of speedlights combined with flash2softbox adapters - I like to develop the lighting skill to get more into fashion and beauty photography.

I put something together on why some picture suck, enjoy :-)
