I am a hobbyist and eternal novice at photography. I began shooting with a digital SLR in 2006, but soon thereafter discovered the joy of film. Now I am a convert. I still shoot and post a little bit of digital now and then, but I find that, for the most part, I use my digital camera for taking fairly pedestrian photographs of my family, and my film cameras for taking photographs I'm serious about.

As an enthusiast, my work is largely ununified by any overarching themes or interests. I do not think of myself as possessing a terribly distinctive visual style, and I have no intention of developing one, except by accident. I do, however, love natural and available light, and I try to work to become better at capturing a diversity of subjects in found illumination. If there is a unifying purpose to my photographic endeavors, it's just that.

I'd also like to one day become an accomplished portraitist, but I'm quite shy about taking photographs of people I'm not related to. So it goes.

Here's a list of the equipment I own and use:
Digital
Canon 40d
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro
Canon 430ex flash

Film
Olympus OM-1
OM Zuiko 24mm f/2.8
OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.8
OM Zuiko 50mm f/3.5 macro
OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.4
Olympus XA
Olympus XA-2
Vivitar Ultra-Wide & Slim
Yashica-Mat EM
Polaroid SX-70 (so far unused, but one of these days I'll spring for some film)

I also have a blog now. Please note that I do a bit of "aggregating" on this blog: I often add photographs that I fave on Flickr to the Tumblr site (where permitted to do so). My hope is that, in doing so, I will increase the exposure of some of the best photographers on Flickr. Nevertheless, if you find a photograph of yours on my blog and would like for me to take it down, please ask. All such requests will be granted.

My film shots are scanned with a Canon Canoscan 8800F. My preference for photographic naturalism dictates that I edit my film photographs only very minimally. I'll adjust the curves/levels and color balance as necessary, and very occasionally remove distracting elements, but otherwise I leave them as-is. My digital shots are, however, usually heavily post-processed.

Comments on the stream are greatly appreciated, and will be reciprocated whenever possible.

"Tucker not only takes lovely photographs, he THINKS about them. Yup, he's a clever clog, and I can't wait to see how he continues to develop as a photographer, be it in digital or analogue. He's also a great contact and, I suspect, a super guy overall :)"
