Born and raised in Wisconsin but married to Japan. Just trying to capture the moment in photos and video clips to combine at times with my cheezy homemade music and preserve in digital form what my aging mind no longer retains. I am not as diligent as I could be about maintaining flickr contacts, so my comments and postings may lapse from time to time, but I usually return because there are some really interesting and supportive people hanging out here doing beautiful things with cameras old and new.

Digital equipment currently includes:

Canon SD1000: a 7MP everyday pocket camera
Canon S5 IS: 8MP used mostly for long shots with a fairly fast 12X telephoto
Canon G5: 2003 vintage 5MP icon bought on ebay to experience the F2.0 lens and learn how to work in RAW
Nikon Coolpix 5400: this 2004 vintage 5 MP is back in my bag after recently discovering all the controls and features I missed the first time around including ability to shoot in TIFF and RAW, and create a 4X4 time lapse
Pentax K-x: I was dreaming of a K-7 but settled for half a dream. So far so good.
Panasonic G1: my introduction to the micro 4/3 world and a chance to use my collection of old glass.
Panasonic G2: a slight upgrade from the G1 to add video capability, and it came nicely packaged with the Lumix 20/1.7 lens at a discount
Panasonic LX3: a great little lowlight wide angle pocket machine.

and still shooting film when I can with this growing collection:

35mm SLR's:
Canon FX: external meter and built like a tank, came back with me from Japan in 1970 with a nice old FL 50mm F1.4 lens
Canon FTbN: black beauty bought on ebay. Finally got the meter fixed and a CLA to bring it back to full working order.
Canon EOS Kiss: bought for the luxury of AE metering to use with an M42 adapter and collection of old 50mm glass.
Fujica ST705: a bit quirky, but seems to be a nice alternative to a Spotmatic for shooting with m42 lenses and easier to find batteries
Konica Autoreflex T4: definitely an acquired taste which I have not fully acquired yet
Mamiya/Sekor MSX 500: bought it for the 50mm German lens attached which didn't work, but the camera does.
Minolta SRT101: a copy of my first SLR bought in Japan so many years ago
Minolta SRT202: rescued a battered black body from the parts bin of a defunct camera store and after an overhaul it has become a favorite
Minolta XE7: while looking for an XD11 I stumbled on the XE7, was smitten and never did find an XD11
Nikon FE: added this 70's vintage model with AE and manual settings on the recommendation of my local camera repair shop and I am really glad I did.
Pentax K1000 SE: added partly for the F1.7 lens to put on my K-x, and partly to just find out what this old classic is all about
Pentax Spotmatic: another camera that came attached to an M42 lens I thought I needed
Yashica FX-D se: bought it for the ML 35-105 lens but replaced the seals and covering and found it makes a nice combo

Rangefinders:
Minolta 7s: a copy of my first real 35mm from the 60's
Konica Auto S2: using mainly for BW
Contax T2: slick, sophisticated and still intimidating to me
Olympus Trip 35: this has become a real favorite for its simplicity and great results
Olympus 35 RC: picked this up for $10 with no meter, but it helps me learn to feel the light.
