I live on a farm in Eastern North Carolina near the ocean. That would be the Atlantic Ocean.

I was a broadcast reporter and anchor for more than 30 years which means I know a little something about a lot of things but not enough about anything.

Most of my shots are of things and scenes here on the farm: things we grow on the farm, like flowers, and things I wish we didn’t grow on the farm like weeds.

The texture movement which has swept flickr does not interest me. Neither does the hdr thing. I do try to appreciate the talent involved in each.

I am addicted to light and color: Front light, side light, back light, spotlight, refracted light, diffused light. And, color. I set all my cameras to “Vivid”. If you are here to razz me about the bold color in my shots, Save your energy.

I still shoot film but I am almost all digital now. I still think film is better in some respects.

I shoot Nikon Cameras: Nikon D90, D40x, D40 and Nikon FM (analog). Lenses: Nikon 18-200VR, Nikon 50mm, Nikon 28mm, Nikon 100mm, Sigma 10-20mm, Sigma 70-300mm.

I am open to new contacts but those who don’t visit my site will be excommunicated.
