A self proclaimed "junkaholic" and all around happy geek, Dan Jones (a.k.a. Tinkerbots) is a San Diego found object, mixed medium, assemblage sculptor. Dan has been a tinkerer for as long as he can recall. At the age of 22 he was awarded a patent for a radio controlled sail car toy he created. These days from his backyard lab and studio, Dan takes great joy in creating whimsical robots, rayguns and steampunk themed sculptures out of what most people would consider "junk". Some of Dan's many interests include collecting vintage radio broadcasts, the steam and dieselpunk aesthetic and the never ending treasure hunts for those esoteric gems of junk. Dan's work has appeared in several steampunk publications. From time to time his work can be seen in San Diego's Device Gallery and is a regular addition to the San Diego International Comic Con's Art show.
