Since entering the publishing world and launching my own website (www.TimKellerArts.com), both at the end of 2008, I've been too busy to spend the time I like at Flickr.
I started writing as a way to get my photos published. My first magazine feature was published in January 2009 by Western Horseman; a month later, they had accepted two more and now I'm a contributing writer. I'm also a regular contributor to New Mexico Magazine, RANGE, enchantment, Ranch & Reata and The Chronicle-News, always leading with my photographs, then developing the written story.
Meantime, my large framed photos have been selling through a gallery as well as a New Mexico program for permanent public displays -- one is mounted at a Rio Rancho recreation center, another at the Belen Public Library. The Holiday Inn in Raton, New Mexico currently has a show of 28 of my framed photographs from small to large.
Writing and photography have become virtually a full-time pursuit, yet I'm still wrapping them around an actual full-time job, which I also love, as an English teacher at Raton High School. The net result is that I haven't had time to keep up with my friends here at Flickr, though I continue to drop in as I can.
