Thom Duffy was born in Berwyn, Pennsylvania in 1964 and is the youngest of nine children of parents Edward and Barbara Duffy. He is a figurative colorist painter and a BFA graduate of Kutztown University, and also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Continuing Education program. Thom’s still lifes and portraits have been included in several juried exhibitions in the Philadelphia region including; The Art of State Annual Exhibition ‘03 at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, Quita Brodhead Memorial ’02 at the Wayne Art Center, as well as several shows at the Philadelphia Sketch Club (03-06). Thom received the Jane Piper Still Life Award at the Members Show ’03 at the Wayne Art Center. Thom had a solo exhibition at Mangel Gallery, Philadelphia in 2004. He is active in the GLBT community serving as Co Chair of the William Way Community Center Art Gallery Committee.

Recent commissions completed by Thom include a large portrait of a couple for their private collection, a large triptych skyline painting of Philadelphia, and a large painting of City Hall’s tower for a corporate collection.

Thom has worked in the arts as curator and exhibition coordinator for more than 15 years. He is currently the Director of the Pennsylvania Art Conservatory’s Center City gallery located at 1824 Chestnut Street. The Pennsylvania Art Conservatory specialized in 19th & Early 20th Century paintings.

Thom has lived in Center City Philadelphia since 1990. He and his partner, Mike Martino, live in a home South Philadelphia.
