Licensing

What licenses do I use? - Some photos are fully copyrighted, but most of my photos are licensed cc-by-nc-sa. "cc" means it's the Creative Commons license, "by" means that you must provide attribution, "nc" means that commercial use is prohibited, and "sa" means that the photo & any derivatives retain the same license at all times. Fully copyrighted photos generally include photos in my gallery & photos of people... check toward the bottom-right of each photo's page to see what the license is. Note that photos with people as a primary subject are inherently forbidden from republishing without explicit authorisation & model release.

General Use - If the images are cc-by-nc-sa & do not contain anyone as a primary subject... read on: to comply for non-commercial use, include a caption, endnote, footnote, etc. reading "Photo by Andrew Bossi, Flickr". That's it... easy. Linking back to my photo would also be much appreciated, and since I love to see where my photos end up: feel free to leave a link or note on the photo's page of where you use it.

Commercial Use - I only have the non-commercial restriction in place to prevent people from selling my photos directly. I'm OK with commercial usage so long as my photo isn't the primary product -- just message me for such usage.

Wikipedia - For anyone that wants to use my photos on Wikipedia (which last I checked, requires that photos permit commercial use): just message me and I'll see about dropping specific photos down to cc-by-sa.

Paid Use - If you wish to use my photos without attribution, use any fully copyrighted photos, use any photos with people as a primary subject, or sell my photos as a primary product: send me a message to discuss compensation.

Change of License Notes - All cc-by-sa licenses were changed over to cc-by-nc-sa on 14 March 2010. Any commercial usage in use prior to this time continues to be permitted.

My Photos

When it comes to photos, I am by no means a pro. I'm an engineer, so my artistic talent is befitting of our stereotype. I primarily use Flickr as a place to store my photos. So if you find a good one among the thousands, I'll be more than happy. My style is generally of landscapes / city scenes or transportation photos I take for work... I do some stuff for local theatre groups, and through it all I try to be the least invasive I can be -- I rarely use flash. In the most narcissistic manner there is, I keep a gallery of the images I believe to be among my better ones:

About Me

I am 28 yrs old and work as a transport engineering consultant, dealing primarily with traffic operations and planning. I graduated from Penn State in 2005 with a BS in Civil Engineering (focusing on transportation), and I graduated in 2008 from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Civil Engineering (focusing on urban planning and transport engineering). My long-term goal involves becoming a partially-benevolent Emperor of Earth.

My roots are in Lancaster County and Philadelphia, PA, as well as on and around Long Beach Island, NJ. I lived in Maryland for 5 years before moving into DC, where I am now. I currently work in Maryland throughout Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. ...I miss being on the proper side of the Mason-Dixon Line; and ho la doppia cittadinanza-con l'Italia.
