I'm just this guy, you know?

I've had an interest in photography for a long time and finally bought myself my first digital camera about 6 years ago. It was a simple Canon Powershot A60. I started to look at things a bit differently and found it to be a nice creative outlet that happened to coincide with one other hobby of mine, miniature model painting.

About two or three years back I wanted more and started looking at DSLR cameras. Due to the expense it seemed a bit out of reach but I dreamed and looked and played with some of my families cameras.

Earlier this year I was gifted a Nikon D60 by a generous family member along with the standard 55mm-80mm lens and since then I have purchased a 60mm macro and a 32mm "normal" lens as well as a flash and new kit bag. I'm learning how to effectively use my new tools and look forward to expanding my skills and knowledge. I appreciate constructive criticism and have learned through the years how to use it to better my works. Flickr is one other tool I am taking full advantage of, spending time looking at other peoples visions and creative examples as well as using it to show my results. it's quite inspirational.

My new D90, what a treat. I'm learning quite a bit and trying to apply it all as often as I can. I'd like to get into some more advanced flash work so I'm looking to get an SB600 to start.

Still trying to figure out my "style" but there is more to play with before I get there.
