Why I'm on Flickr:

I'm one of those people who likes to document. I used to have a stack of VHS tapes filled with important news events. Then I realized that there are plenty of people out there that do a better job of documenting the rest of the world than me. So, I decided to document my own life and as a result I have waaaay too many pictures on this site. Big brother doesn't need to install cameras in my apartment because I've essentially already done it. For documenting what goes on in my head, check out my site thepete.com and for what goes on in my every day life, check me out at life.thepete.com. I'm also on 8 thousand different socnets, go here to see a list of them (but for my most active socnets, just hit my tumblr or my twitter).

So, that's my philosophy on picture taking--I love documenting personal things and I love seeing other folks pictures documenting things in their lives. It makes me feel less unique--less alone :) Of course, because I emphasize documentation, style is less of a concern, but hey, I like a nicely composed picture, too.
