Firstly, thank you so much for checking out my Flickr profile! I hope you've got the chance to see my photostream and enjoyed some of my shots there. Not sure what to look at? You can have a look at my favourites, top interesting, explored or my 52 week photo project '12.

If I were to categorise my level as a photographer, I think I would rank as a serious, amateur hobbyist photog. I like having a camera around me and I really enjoy the processes in which a photograph is made; from the thought to framing, pressing the shutter to reviewing and finally post-processing (or waiting for dev impatiently!) and enjoying the final piece alone and with other people. This whole process brings me great pleasure, and I hope you can savour a bit of the joy when you see a photo you like.

To be honest, this is actually my third account on Flickr, hence the recent 2010 joined date. I didn't really put enough effort in the previous two accounts and sadly, I figured that my screen name wasn't the one I like. So in 2010, the year I really felt my inner photog rise up; I started over and here I am. I'm really pleased with my Flickr right now and I love the community here, especially the other talented photographers and informative group discussions.

My first dslr was the Canon 400D in 2006. I didn't have much clue as to what I was doing! I was only 14 then and it was my birthday present from my mother. I can't thank her enough for getting me this at such a young age. I don't think I would have such love for photography if it wasn't for my early exposure. Ever since then, I've been somewhat of a lens/camera pack-rat and spending too much on gear rather than spending more time with the gear I have. (I know it's a bad habit, but I'm getting better!)

In 2011, I discovered film photography and I fell in love all over again. It's such a different experience compared to digital. I had to adjust my style after so many years of "click-review-not satisfied-delete-click again" There really is a lot to appreciate in film photography and I would encourage competent digital shooters to try it out if you haven't already, because I think it really trains your eyes to look for more photo-worthy shots. I guess what I'm trying to say is I treasure film, yet I admire the endless possibilities of digital photography.

In Feb 2012, I've finally upgraded my 400D to a second-hand 50D! I doubt I'll have time to experiment with it any time soon, but this is a great upgrade for me.The 50D feels so much better in my hands, and the pentaprisim is much better than the pentamirror. I think I'll be satisfied for at least 4 or 5 more years till my final DSLR upgrade will be the 5DM2.
