I worked (for free) as a dog's-body for an Independent, Free, Local Newspaper called Vigilance. I did delivery, fund-raising planning & staffing, ad design & copywriting, original image & logo design, helped shape the look of a previously jumbled arts section, wrote reviews, and acted as the music section editor. I was the layoutist.

Vigilance is now defunct, leaving a hole in the community and a vaccuum in the quickly dwindling worldwide Independent News offerings available today. It was started by a couple of freaks that wanted to give the community and free press a voice. You can do it, too.
"The condition of liberty is eternal Vigilance."
