From their humble beginnings in an isolated Newfoundland trailer park, Jolene and Sharlene Keats are quickly becoming known as one of Canada’s most talented new country acts – The Keats! The duo’s debut CD, Good to be Home, is nominated for a 2010 East Coast Music Award for Best Country Recording, while the video for first single, “Give Me a Ring”, enjoys feature status on CMT.ca. The Halifax-based twin sisters create instant fans with their powerful two-part harmonies and wonderful blend of country, pop and roots music. Most recently, Jolene and Sharlene Keats traveled to Afghanistan to entertain the troops, and showcased at Toronto’s Canadian Music Week, Moncton’s Contact East and the 2009 Cavendish Beach Music Festival. Produced by Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk, McMaster & James, Kyle Riabko), Good to be Home emphasizes the twins’ classically trained abilities (both graduated with music degrees from Mount Allison University). From mandolin, fiddle, euphonium, guitar, to piano, there isn’t anything – or anywhere – the Keats won’t play!
