I don't want to set the world on fire. I just want to pass the time, doing something moderately satisfying.
I take pictures of things, and sometimes those pictures make me happy.
It makes sense that pictures of people I love would make me happy. It's kind of a gimme.
What I really appreciate are the pictures that are completely inexplicable in their ability to make me happy. These photos usually involve the urban landscape and hard light. Lately, they've involved taking pictures of random strangers in public places without their permission.
The appreciation of photography can be made arbitrarily complex. Some people make a sport out of overcomplicating it. I don't much care for that type of thing.
