The John Anson Ford Theatres complex is one of the oldest performing arts venues in Los Angeles still in use. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the venue consists of the 1,200-seat Ford Amphitheatre and intimate 87-seat [Inside] the Ford theatre. The outdoor amphitheatre is set against a dramatic backdrop of cypresses and chapparal. It is relatively intimate in that no patron is more than 96 feet away from the stage. Music, dance, film and family events are presented May through October. [Inside] the Ford hosts a season of new plays from November through April.

The John Anson Ford Theatres are owned and operated by the County of Los Angeles. The facility is run through a three-way partnership between the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Ford Theatre Foundation.
