The Clothing Show moves to the Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place, September 23 – 25, for its fall 2011 show offering a weekend of shopping, runway shows, and the insider’s scoop on what’s next in the trends.

Celebrating its 34th year, The Clothing Show has been a draw for local Toronto shoppers for generations. For those in search of independent, original and unusual designs, it has become a seasonal resource. It also boasts some of the best deals in the city, with special sales found only at the show.
“The Clothing Show has been a Toronto shopping event for decades. It has evolved over the years, transforming itself as the trends wax and wane. But, the mandate has not changed – to provide a source of local talent to the public and press and to allow them a chance to show their work. This is an opportunity to purchase designs that may be one of a kind or only a hundred of a kind, for posterity, because you love it, because you connected with the person that made it, or because design that good should not be that price”, says Clayton Charles Williams, Show Organizer.

Filling the Queen Elizabeth Building to the brim, we have simplified the floorplan with fewer sections, bringing back the thrill of the find from shows years past.
The newly centralized Runway will feature jewelry and clothing designers, with revolving shows throughout the weekend. The growing list of designers showing includes Diane Kroe, RoseRed, C-Virtue, and Ashaki Charles Designs.
New to The Clothing Show this year is our Local Canadian Designer section, which provides a showcase for local designers. Established brands and emerging, not yet known talent combine to create a grand mix of unmistakably Canadian design that otherwise, is not easily accessible.
Meet and shop directly from the designers and artisans. Find that shopping can be a personal and inspiring experience. By choosing to wear works that are manufactured here in Canada, limited in number and hold a small carbon footprint, you are rewarded with style and innovation.

The Sample Sales Section continues to draw crowds eager for those legendary sales of up to 90% off retail.
Find big names from our retailers, like Guido and Mary, Ben Sherman, Fred Perry, Paige, 7 for all Mankind, and much more. Find alterna-fashion, trendy urban, original hand screened shirts and accessories with attitude in the Streetwear area. Discover treasures in the Vintage section from handpicked collections brought from across Ontario, including antique and estate jewelry.

Keep an eye out for the Fashion Photography Contest where participants will be staging impromptu photoshoots, competing for a cash prize and publication.

The Clothing Show is hosting a food drive throughout the weekend with the Daily Bread Food Bank. A donation of a non-perishable food item is rewarded with a free gift, while supplies last. “Last year, The Daily Bread Food Bank received the largest increase of client visits in 15 years. With 872,000 visits in the previous year, and 34% being children, there is a very substantial need. We want to take this opportunity to educate the public and reach out to them to give support to a very worthy charity.” says Bonnie Meacham, Show Producer.
