Kyle was born and raised here in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Revere High School. He received his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in Political Science. While in college he interned for Congressman Tom Sawyer, served as Senate Page in the Ohio State House and worked as a finance assistant for a targeted congressional campaign in Columbus. The day after his last final, he packed his things and headed for New Jersey where he worked as a Field Coordinator for the New Jersey Democratic Coordinated Campaign. After getting his feet wet working political campaigns, Kyle came back to the city he loves and earned a Masters of Public Administration and Certificate in Applied Politics from the University of Akron.

In 2004, Kyle started The Chief Source as a Democrat political blog based in Akron, Ohio. With the help of co-bloggers Bob, Chuck, Jeff, Terra, Annie, Kevin, Chandra, Ian, and Sophie the site covered politics for four years. In January of 2008, Kyle and his long time Republican friend Ben Keeler started work for the Akron Beacon Journal's website - Ohio.com. They co-blog a site called "The Point." The site ended its run in November of 2008 with Keeler and Kutuchief becoming the first independent bloggers in Ohio to write for an Ohio newspaper's website.

Most of these activities are shared with good friends of all political persuasions. He is also active in local politics here in Akron volunteering for various candidates and causes.

Since starting The Chief Source on July 8, 2004, Kyle beams with pride as the site has evolved over the years and looks forward to photography.
