The Healthy Cities' Programme

www.emro.who.int/publications/emhj/1306/article3.htm

The Healthy Cities' Programme is a preventive health awarenss programme. It is based on the idea that effective health promotion can be achieved when all environmental, social and economic aspects are improved. Environmental wellbeing is the result of the immediate local environment, namely homes, schools and workplaces and health care service locations. The Healthy Cities' Programme is an ambitious yet achieveable challenge that depends on team work and continuous innovation by each city's governmental or non-governmental volunteers and the general public.

Environmental betterment is the responsibility of all sectors of society, each of us have a religious role and humanitarian duty to our environment and thereby to our nation.
