Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
New Zealand’s national museum, the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
Te Papa's key tasks are to preserve and present the taonga (treasures) of New Zealand's peoples and to interpret the country's heritage for national and international audiences. Te Papa acquires works of art, taonga, artefacts, and specimens relating to the cultural heritage and natural environment of New Zealand, the Pacific, and the wider world, with over two million objects, art works and specimens in the collections.
