This is the family / fun / learning account.
I was introduced to photography in high school. It was the late 80's and film was the only game in town. My cameras were my grandfather's old Agfa Karat 36 (WWII era), and later, a borrowed Nikon. For the self-portrait assignment, I turned in a stick figure that I developed after drawing on a clear negative with India ink. It was the only ink that would stick to the film. The teacher didn't accept it, but I thought it was "nifty, keen"... hey, it was the 80's! I was hooked but didn't have the money to pursue.
So, at the end of 2011, and nearly 25 years of point-and-shoots later, I finally got a DSLR. Well, technically a SLT. I hope you enjoy the pictures while I relearn the art. Fortunately, digital is far less expensive and immediately gratifying.
For those interested, my main camera is a Sony A77, though I also take pictures with an iPhone 4s and old Canon Powershot S50. Yes, I still have the Agfa and it still works, but it is more of an heirloom now.
Enjoy!
