I enjoy bird watching and just about anything that has to do with the outdoors. I live in South Texas where I teach high school sciences and run a cattle ranch.


I am new at photography. I picked up a camera to augment my bird watching. I have found it to be a useful tool for identification and documentation.

I live in one of the great birding areas of Texas. Uvalde is located at the foothills of the Edwards Plateau or Hill Country Region of Texas. To our West is the beginnings of the Chihuahuan Desert and to our South is the Rio Grande Plains region. Uvalde County is home to four rivers, the Frio, The Nueces, the Sabinal and the Leona. Many endemic species from the Rio Grande Valley can be seen periodically in and around Uvalde.
