I add little bits here and there every now and then.
Been in NT for 33 years. Have been married for 38 years (to same lovely woman). 2 kids and 3 grandkids. Retired Public Servant (26 years) just working part time now. People ask me if I've lived all my life in the NT. I say 'Not yet'
My interests are Travel/caravaning photography sailing fishing computing. I used to love camping and the bush. Nowdays I still love the bush but prefer the home comforts more now. (like our new Air conditioned caravan.)
Oh my screen name Austr07, I was up all night thinking of that one.
People say I am a sceptic but I don't believe them.
I also used to be so indecisive but now I'm not so sure.
I was down the beach the other day and saw two pretty girls laying on the beach. I asked them if they would mind if I took a photograph of them in the nude. They said that they would prefer it if I kept my clothes on.
(I borrowed that joke from my friend Ted)
My friend Scott put me onto a new powdered form of viagra that you put into your cup of tea. It doesn't enhance your sexual performance but it stops your biscuit going soft.
I have not posted any photos of myself because I consider myself to be not very photegenic. In fact when I was a kid my mum had to hang a pork chop around my neck just so the dog would play with me.
Best book I've read: Mathew Flinders Cat by Bryce Courtenay
Other books I would recomend are;
King of the Australian Coast by Marsden Hordern.
Mariners be Warned by Marsden Hordern
Mathew Flinders by Miriam Estensen
One of the best and most moving songs I've heard is 'Time To Say Goodbye' by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. If you have not heard it, get it and turn up volume to max. If you don't like it play it again even louder. Here is one link to the song www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbN0g8-zbdY&feature=related
My camera stuff:
Nikon D40x with standard kit lens 18-55 and 55-200 now converted to infrared.

Nikon Speedlight SB600 (most least used accessory I've got)
Tamron 10-24mm zoom (my favourite lens)
Sigma 105mm EX DG f/2.8 Macro Lens (my favourite lens)
Nikkor 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 ED VR II
Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 ED VRII (my favourite lens)

Kenko 52mm ND8 and ND4 Neutral density filters.
Pro digital R72 Infrared filter
Kenko ND400 72mm
Kenko extension tube set. 36mm, 20mm and 12mm.
Macro focusing rail.
Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote control
1 biro and notepad. Hey I'm just filling up the page.
1 Camera bag which is bigger than Ben Hur now. (sometimes sets off seatbelt not on warning sign if placed on front seat)
Inca tripod. (has had a lot of use standing is saltwater. Still in good nik tho) and Vanguard Alta tripod.
Gee I almost forgot - I have a box Brownie 6-20 that my father gave to me. made in late 40's, still works. It took great pictures. I think I read somewhere that Eastman/Kodak made 50 million of these. They are now worth $6-$12 in good nik.
Software:
Capture Nx 2.0
Color Efex 3.0
Silver Efex Pro 2
Viveza2
Photomatix 3.0
Photoshop Elements 8 and 9 (never use it. don't know why I bought it.)
and of course don't forget the old GIMP
Did I mention a drop of good red? Oh hang on this doesn't go here in this section does it.
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me
than a frontal lobotomy.
