Having Lived by Tasha

here is what I know:

when the sunlight pulsates through woven branches overhead
when sprinkles of waves cling to yellow petals
when feathers float into my path
when sweet dreams awaken me

when my son kisses me and my husband squeezes me
when my family is near and my dad’s eyes glimmer with memory
when tradition plays out and elements of new are added

when all that is me gathers into my palms
like silky sand
like candle wishes
like coins into the well

I know I have tasted Spirit and felt love and lived.

I was born on June 22, 1980, a rainy day in the midst of a drought. In 2000, one and a half years after we encountered one another across the miles, I married a compassionate, unique, supportive man, and I'm still happy and in love. In 2003 and 2006, I birthed a beautiful baby boy and then girl, both strong, sweet, imaginative. I'm creative, spiritual, nurturing, strong and full of will, focused, generally happy. I view life as an adventure, a gift.
