"What is it that makes Tapa the remarkable artist that she is? Trick question, sorry...for it is the same quality that graces all great artists: an APPRECIATION for art. For all the talent that she so obviously possesses, it is her love and respect for the works of OTHERS that truly sets her apart.
I can remember querying her for an invitation to 'bitches brew' with a feeling of trepidation, only to be welcomed with open arms into one of Flickr's finest groups. As I explored the myriad other groups the sight has to offer, it became immediately obvious that she is EVERYWHERE....supporting others, inviting new members, drawing inspiration, and, undoubtedly appreciating - being a FAN of art.
The result of this dedicated, tireless input is one of the most prolific and consistently above-the -fold streams I've yet to encounter on Flickr. Her masterful use of the challenging square format is in a league of its own. The sophisticated compositions she constructs are elevated to an even higher plane by a range of palettes that offer everything from subtle, understated earth tones to bold, sensual, supersaturated reds, yellows, and greens in their rawest, high-impact forms. There is little else needs be said regarding her artistry. Indeed, words seem woefully inadequate...the work says it all.
