Tammara Stewart describes her relationship to her photographs as one of respect for her subject and reverence for the natural world. Trained as a classical artist, Stewart discovered her passion for photography six years ago and has embarked upon numerous projects both technical and aesthetic to include her extensive wildlife series, photographed across the United States, and her new dynamic series of landscape vignettes. Stewart’s use of color stems from her early artistic trainings and her works convey a deep appreciation for the subtle nuances of light and its relationship with color and form. Stewart, who considers herself largely self-taught, has studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and most recently with photographer Stephen M. Schaub of Wells, Vermont. She has extensively photographed in home state of Vermont as well as National Parks across the country from the Everglades in Florida, to Acadia in Maine and to Glacier in Montana.

Photographing from a deeply personal perspective, Stewart describes her work as “about dropping preconceived notions, wants and desires and giving oneself over to the moment. It’s about being silent internally, and seeing and experiencing the world exclusively with the soul.”

All artworks created by Stewart are produced by the artist in her Vermont studio. For more information on Stewart, her artworks, gallery exhibitions and events please visit Stewart’s website at www.tammarastewart.com.
