Standing on Little Round Top was a wish come true. I had a wish, a dream that one day to go up there. The place is beyond words, it was much more than i had dreamed, in fact i felt like i was in a dream, it was magical. I am a Civil War buff, I also take pictures of the famous, angels, statutes, cars, fire trucks, police cars (my son is a policeman), why fire trucks, i like them), & cats. I try to stay with the Officers since i can find more info on them. I mainly take cemetery pictures, but also do re-enactments of the Civil War. Never felt "any" kind of creepy feelings or scared in the cemeteries, i feel at peace even alone. I do have some of my fav. pics blocked because i'm still working on them, and plan to put those in a booklet. I have been labelled a documentary photographer, so my pictures are as close to natural as possible, i like minimal colors, i don't use any photoshop, i do a bit of background technique, not much, i don't need much technical add ons with my subject matter, my favorite color is neutrals and sepia. If i'm feeling paranoid at the time, i'll splash my name across the middle, but i have yet to find my "perfect" logo, so i decided oh well, whatever. I have 2 sons, one lives in Atlanta, has degree in Art from UNCC, the other is a police officer, has computer degree, teaches karate, is a 2nd deg. black belt. I follow my spirit, there is no rhyme nor reason when or how i take a picture. I had a motorcycle accident in '06, 87 yr old man ran a stop sign and nearly killed me with his car, broke my back, 6 vertebres, 3 surgeries since '06, i have titanium in my back, so i had to find a hobby. I have a paralegal degree, a law enforcement degree, a nursing assistant degree. I was born in Denmark, raised in Florida. My family tree is: Jensen, Logstrup, Rasmussen, Larsen, Anderson, Martinussen, and many more i need to look up. My immediate family name is Ferguson and Bell from previous marriages, both Army veterans, one served in Viet Nam. My favorite line is from the movie Mr. Holland's Opus where Richard Dreyfuss says: (and he was a music teacher) "It's not about the notes on a page, It's about having FUN". "I'd very much like to create my own style as a photographer, even if it's just for myself" quote by: Gordon Parks, Photographer. "The subject matter is so much more important than the photographer" Gordon Parks. Thx for viewing my pictures, if you also have a Civil War, cemetery or in general photography obsession i would luv to be your friend, so we can all learn from each other. I really enjoy photography so much and i started it at a late age, i just wished my dad had lived long enough to see his hobby being passed on to me, but i'm sure he knows what i'm doing and saying "see you should have listened to me".
