Taikera Conyers is student at Columbia College Chicago majoring in Music Business and also on my own pursuing live concert photography/videography. Thinking back to what made her want to pursue this field was when she was in middle school. For everyone middle school was far from his or her favorite time in life. Everyone was at that awkward stage with awkward bodies trying to find their “group” to fit in with. Taikera could not find a group to fit in with anywhere, she stopped liking school, stopped liking being at home and she soon just stopped liking herself. She felt alone as if no one was there for her, then music came into her life. She soon developed an intense love for many bands. Her love for these bands made her live for something again. Them coming out with a new single or new video was something Taikera looked forward to everyday. The bands were all so interactive and made her feel like she was not alone in the world. As insane as it sounds, seeing her favorite bands so closely knit with each other and all of their fans made her feel like she was actually part of another little family. This passion for bands and music has continued with her throughout the years.

Because of all of that, she knew that for the rest of my life she wanted to do something involving music. She wants to be able to be around artists/musicians who are out to make a difference and to follow their dream. She wants to be able to be part of helping create music that can change someone’s life and significantly help them like her favorite bands and music have helped her throughout the years. She is eagerly gaining all of the experience she can while attending Columbia College Chicago and for photography/videography she is continuing going to small shows to get shots of musicians performing to expand her portfolio. Along with that, she is also active on multimedia websites such as Twitter and Tumblr spreading word of new and old bands/music she likes to her friends. She is currently the Music Business Chairmen the Co-Chi school organization and is really excited to be a part of it in this field.
