Johnny Puts Out Fires says:
"Sonja (FWOT) is the light of DMU. and her photos have a way of capturing the moment....put a check in the win column for this young lady."

"What is there to say about Sonja that hasn't already been said? Amazing photographer? Couple of times. Great friend? Hundreds of times. Fantastic admin? Probably never. But to all these things Sonja gives her all and you see it every time you interact with her. She makes Flickr and the World a better place."

"FWOT is a Queen. The queen of DMU, and of Flickr.
She can muse around and shapshot things to make you lower your guard, and suddently she strikes you with a perfect masterpiece. And when that happens, it looks so obvious and simple that you believe you can do the same. Big mistake; you just won't.
And she is hawt too, like Jakes :)"17th May, 2011

"Sonja is a joy to behold, and one great photographer... Watching as she has progressed from a P+S kind of girl, now with a dslr the world awaits what treasures she'll uncover for all to see. I'd get in a double kayak w/ her any time and let her stear, I'm a solo whitewater kind of guy, what does that tell you."

Almond Butterscotch says:
"Going through FWOT's photostream is like walking down the alleys and backroads that she's been through. One first sight, everything seems a bit mundane, but then a sort of Egglestonian light starts to breaks through the images and a story forms: a story between one man's trash and another man's treasure. One that takes a minute to become accustomed with, but once that relationship is created between stream and viewer, you'll keep coming back.
Bottom Line: The best point-and-shoot photographer I knew. Now with SLR."10th May, 2011

"FWOT has treated me with a warm and friendly welcome, from the beginning, because she actually is that kind of nice person. She also speaks her mind, keeps her cool, and has a good laugh at everything, herself included. When she chooses to, she can really shoot. She has keen senses of expression, color, timing, juxtaposition, moment, patten, and the wonder within the seemingly mundane. She manages to reveal the inner significance in a lot of her shots. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through her pictures."

"This girl is crazy, fun, crazy-fun. We once met at the top of a mountain and spent 3 days there eating chocolate and spreading rumors about Flickr people (we had wi-fi).
Oh, and her photos make you believe that there's life beyond reality, which is always a good feeling."9th May, 2011

"Strong willed, opinionated, tough, bold, fun, expressive, kind, talented...did I say strong willed?
What more could you possibly want?
Take the time to get to know her and her work. You won't be disappointed."9th May, 2011

"Let's see. Humor, talent, humor, graciousness, humor, generosity not to mention humor. What the hell is going on here? In this age of jaded, cynical, misanthropy, who does this person think she is, spreading all this positivity all over the place? I want her karma! Thank you Sonja for your smile inducing kindness."

Feeling Croppy says:
"Sonja is the reason I stay at this god forsaken shit hole called flickr. She brightens my day with her daily presence, always supporting all the shit slinging I give and mockery towards whatever I feel like ranting about. Her musical interests are impressive because they are much like my own-- and she has also introduced me to some fine artists I had never heard of until she, well, introduced me. She has a talented eye for photography and I am even more amazed by her art since she works with a point and shoot. She clearly knows no limits and continues to astound us with gorgeous photography. I find her minimalist visions her strength-- they are my favorite of hers. My husband and I adore her. Everyone that knows her adores her. The rest of you can rot. Love you, FWOT! xo"

tapper22 says:
"I have included below the text of the sweetest restraining order I have yet to receive:
I, Favourite Waste of Time, hereby request a restraining order against Tapper22 (henceforth referred to as pervy little creep) because I am afraid his obsession with me is no longer fun. I enjoyed when he came to my photostream for his monthly visit, much like an annoying bout of menstruation that no pill could ameliorate. Then he followed me into groups just to tell people how much he adored me. Sometimes he would talk about my crotch in public. I found his lewd behavior fun. Things changed when the pervy little creep began exposing himself to me in public. Once back in July he sat on the train next to me during my morning commute, opened his laptop to my stream, and began masturbating violently. His “actions” were hidden underneath what appeared to be a bear skin rug, but his moaning bothered the whole train. I was trapped in the window seat and prayed to the Gods that he had not found a way to nut himself on my work clothes. He claimed he would never harm me in any way, but he said that he adored my wit and humor. He said that sometimes I would rip off some fine ass comments that gave him belly laughs. Sometimes he said he would “climax” on his belly as a homage to my skills. However, this must end. Last night I awoke and found the pervy little creep in my bedroom drinking tea, wearing one of my dresses, watching me, and impersonating Bette Midler in a hostage situation (he had duck-taped his mouth and was singing “Wind Beneath My Wings” in between ripping off the duck tape and re-applying it so he could drink the tea). This painful display was too much. I hereby request that the Potato leave me the hell alone and move on with his life."14th March, 2010

"Favorite Waste Of Time is one of the nicest souls on this site, and an excellent acquaintance. Her work is the embodiment of photographic diversity. From portraits to landscapes, architectural shots to abstracts, she has all the bases covered. She continues to show off the amazing things that can be achieved with the humble point-and-shoot, always reminding us of the fact that talent and vision matter more than the quality of one's equipment. Her ability to encapsulate the atmosphere of a moment--any moment--is breathtaking. Be sure to take a minute to wander through her photostream, you won't regret it!"

"Sonja's boots are made for walking. And her eyes are made for capturing every detail along the way and squeeze the juice out of it. But the best thing about her is that she is, in just one word, lovely."

Thomas Hawk says:
"Sonja's work investigates the nuances of vibrations through the use of fast motion and close-ups which emphasize the Generative nature of digital media. Sonja explores abstract and plush scenery as motifs to describe the idea of imaginary artifice. Using creative loops, vectors, and interactive images as patterns, Sonja creates meditative environments which suggest the expansion of space.
Using Irony in her handle, Sonja suggests that her activity on Flickr is wasted time. But really this is more an indictment against time itself than it is against photography. It's this hyper awareness of time that Sonja holds herself accountable to in a transcending way. A friend to all things mechanical (think refrigeration) Sonja bobs and weaves through the digital bits that make up today's lost digital highway."8th January, 2010

"Though still technically a n00b to the crazy Flickr world that is the DMU franchise, FWOT is rapidly becoming a favourite to many. Her wit and charm are on par with the best, and her doe like innocence is just too adorable!
As for her photography, I will just say that I am glad I have yet to go up directly against her in a competition. I don't think I could take a beating like that!"8th December, 2009

"How often do I find someone who has great sense of humour, is intelligent, has good taste, enjoys photography AND likes my photos? Never!
So what is not to like about this wonderful woman. Don't let the fact that she sometimes wears a straight jacket bother you. It is just a sexual things she does sometimes."21st November, 2009

"Sonja is like the long lost friend from elementary school that when you meet way too many years later, you're enchanted to find is just the same as you remember. Except I'm pretty sure we didn't go to school together. That detail aside, I totally dig her humor, whimsy and photos!"

"Its always a delight to see Sonjas stream. She has a cracker way of finding the most interesting things and shows the ordinary parts of life in an extraordinary way. I look forward to what she finds down the alleys she explores as I know she will catch what most of us miss on our daily travels. One of my favorite contacts who is without a doubt one of the most kind and caring women I've had the pleasure to meet. Im blessed to know you and thank you for the wonderful gift of your friendship xx"

"Each and every day that I log into Flickr one of my favorite things to find is new images from Sonja. She is talented behind the lens and more importantly at seeing things that are not obvious but always beautiful. I am inspired by her vision. I really enjoy her photographic take on the world around her.
In addition to her photography she is an outstanding Flickr contact and, dare I say, friend; her comments are encouraging and interesting. Flickr, and my experience with it, would not be the same or nearly as good if I hadn't found her."27th October, 2009

"Dear Sonja, she is the wonderful lady with the joyful spirit, wherever you find her you find the smiles with her, I’m always amazed by her unique ideas and style in photographing, every time you visit her photostream you find something different creatively captured, things that you would never think of taking photos for, with lovable refreshing sense of humor, only she can make a nail look like a flower and a broken glass like a piece of art!! :)
More I discover her beautiful soul the more I find the wisdom I like, I love the way she explains my photos perfectly and knows the exact point intended from my descriptions, she has this unique ability of understanding the others’ thoughts from one glance to their work.
I learned a lot from her, and still...
Thank you my dear friend for your friendship!
With lots of love, and deep esteem... ♥"28th October, 2009

Zoom Lens says:
"This delightful lady has one of the most unique eyes I've seen among photographers. She has that coveted ability to look at ordinary things in an extraordinary way, thus converting them into objects of art. If you haven't seen her "Down an Alley" set you've missed something truly artistic and enjoyable. The Garlic Scapes are a must, as are the photographs: "You do Something to Me," and, "Pipe Dreams." It's a distinct pleasure to have her as a contact, and a friend."

Cuddly Nutter says:
"It is relatively easy these days to take a well exposed and sharply focused photograph. Place anyone, with a modern camera, in front of a picturesque landscape and you will get a decent photograph. Sonja can do that too but where she really shows her talent is when she turns her camera on the discarded and unwanted. Things that most of us wouldn’t give a second thought to, let alone think of photographing. With her eye for detail a gift for composition she turns these objects, if not into things of beauty, into objects of wonder and curiosity. What was that used for? How and why did it end up here? Who, what, where and when? These are the questions that come to my mind when viewing Sonja’s work."
