A little bit about Sweet Me Designs...
Sweet Me Designs was born on a thought I had while folding laundry. I am a self-taught crafter and have taught myself how to sew, quilt, knit and any other craft I might pick up in the future. I had been on a search for a career, something I loved to do and that meant a lot to me. Something I could totally enjoy doing for a very long time and used my skills well.
Sweet Me Designs was a name I came up with for some t-shirt designs I had created. It was perfect for my bags! I have had such tremendous support from friends and family and I would like to thank all of you! Without support like I have,
Sweet Me Designs would have been nothing but a dream.
CARE FOR YOUR FELT BAGS:
Washing Instructions...
STEP 1: Find a soft bristle brush. A baby brush works best. Its small size will help you be delicate. Lay your felt down on a flat, clean surface. Starting at the top, brush softly from left to right. Work your way down the fabric to remove any loose particles or dirt.
STEP 2: Fill a sink with COLD water. Pour in a 1 tablespoon of a mild detergent like Woolite as the water fills. Let the water and soap mix. Place the bag in the cold water when there's enough water to submerge it. Move the bag around in the water in a gentle motion.
STEP 3: After washing, gently squeeze the felt. Carefully remove as much water as you can. Squeezing too hard can result in stretching the fabric. Then place it on a clean, flat surface. Press down on the felt to make it flat. Make sure it's stretched only to its proper size. Let the felt air-dry for 1 to 3 days, depending on
the size and temperature of the room. Let the felt air-dry completely. Do not rush by heating it. Any heat can make the felt shrink and lose color.
FUZZ BALL REMOVAL:
Your felt items will tend to gain felt fuzz balls over time. It is natural for this material, like a sweater. The easiest way to remove them is to shave it. You can either use a sweater fuzz remover or a regular shaver (not an electric shaver). Follow your instructions for the sweater shaver.
If you use a regular face shaver:
STEP 1: Lay your item down on a flat surface.
STEP 2: Shave from top to bottom and then left to right. Your bag should become fuzz free.
You may need to do this with you items on a routine basis, it depends on how much the item is used and if it is repeatedly being rubbed against
something.
