From Daytona Beach, Chris Walters is a multi-dimensional artist who draws from a varied background which includes eight years as an illustrative photographer, five years as a decorated police officer and several years as a sailboat/fishing boat captain. He creates unique art, rich in emotion and strongly influenced by his travels throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Time spent as a fishing boat captain as well as a multitude of other life experiences has given rise to creating images relevant to his appreciation of the environment, nature and compassion towards the world around him. Using traditional photography tools, as well as skills learned in the digital lab, he produces work that is layered and dimensional, inviting the viewer to incorporate their own experiences and emotion into their interpretation of his work. The resulting creations are captured moments of time and a journey of discovery where objects from nature become image elements through photography, scanning and direct contact.
