I'm a Getty Images Artist

I am an amateur photographer wanting to learn more. I am married and have two kids.

I used to take photos with an analogue SLR in the eighties and nineties. Mostly snapshots when travelling. I loved taking nightimages but that was as far as my techniques interest got me.

Bought a digital point and shoot which alllowed me to take more and more photos and also made the SLR get further and further into the back of the closet.

When I needed a new camera I opted for a Canon S5 IS because it had so much possibilities (almost like a DSLR). A year later I was frustrated by the limitations of it. Now I wanted to learn more photography and I felt that the camera stopped me.

In 2009 I bought a used Canon EOS 400D. Already had some lenses that would work with it so that would be a great way to expand my gear and bring out some of that which had been hiding in the closet.

Gear:

Canon EOS 400D
Canon EF 50 f1.8
Canon EF 75-300 1:4-5.6 II
Sigma 10-20 1:4-5.6

Tamron AT-X 400 f5.6

Canon Speedlight 380EX

Manfrotto 055XPROB with a Manfrotto 498RC2 ball head.

Monopod:
Manfrotto Monopod 680B with 234RC tilthead.
