Southwestern AHEC was established in 1998 as a center to serve southern Fairfield and New Haven counties. In January 2006 Southwestern AHEC converted into an independent 501(C)3 non-profit agency, located in Trumbull, CT.

MISSION: To enchance access to quality primary and preventive healthcare in Southwestern Connecticut by linking students, providers and families through education, workforce development and community collaborations.

INITIATIVES: Youth Health Service Corps (YHSC), Connecticut Health Careers Academy (CTHCA), Investigations in Health Careers, HOT (Health Occupation and Technologies) Careers in CT, College Health Service Corps (CHSC), Health & Human Service Training, Community Health Outreach Training and Oral Health Bridgeport Innitiative (ORBIT).
