I've been interested in photography since I was a little girl. My grandfather gave me a box brownie camera. Also, my brother went to college and did City & Guilds photography so I helped him with his course work and went out on photography shoots with him. Occasionally, when he thought it was necessary, I would appear in his photos as a little extra interest! I typed up all his notes for him and carried some of his gear around. We did shoots at weddings, car showrooms, food photography, you name it. He used traditional SLR film cameras and 50 mm cameras too. I used these also and helped him develop films and photos and fix them. I have even experimented with a pinhole camera.

I left photography alone for quite some time really but got back into it about twelve years ago when I bought my first digital camera, a Sanyo 640 x 480 digicam. It was amazing at first but the image quality soon started to niggle me and I upgraded to a Canon Powershot S40. The image quality was wonderful and the manual controls were good too, however, the lack of a proper manual focus started to annoy me. About four years ago I bought a Canon EOS 300D and haven't looked back since, it is brilliant and has changed what I am able to do when taking photographs to a massive extent.

I have just bought a Canon IXUS IS100 compact camera (it really is diddly) for taking around with me when I don't want to have my big SLR out and about. I've only just started using it but have to say that I am very happy with the image quality so far. I will be starting to post up more images taken with this camera too.

I enjoy landscape photography the best hence why I started the Group "A Picture of Britain". The landscape of the British Isles is amazing and the photos in the group prove that. It is truly beautiful. I also enjoy nature photography, animals and flowers and trees and suchlike. I'm not keen on portrait photography or indoor photography but I will have a go when I need to.

If you wish to use any of my photos then I am happy as long as you ask first. You can take it that if I see my photo anywhere and you haven't asked me then I will want it removed. Also, please ask me first, don't use my photos and then ask as some people have done. If you do this I will also ask you to remove my photo from your website.
