Hi, my name is Susan Jones and I make all of the hand-blown beads presented here. All of my beads are made from the finest Italian, German and American glass.

Hand-blown or 'lampwork' beads are made one-at-a-time using thin, colored rods of glass. The glass rod is melted in the flame of a propane and oxygen fueled torch and wound around a steel mandrel (for the bead hole). Various colors of glass are used to layer designs onto the beads.

All my beads are annealed overnight in a kiln for maximum long life and durability. The bead holes are always cleaned thoroughly with a diamond dremel.

Lots of time and effort go (lovingly) into the creation of quality lampwork beads. They are small, handmade, wearable pieces of art.
