Sunrise Children’s Services is a non-profit, faith-based private provider of care to Kentucky children who have suffered abuse and neglect.

Licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and accredited by the Joint Commission, Sunrise operates a statewide network of therapeutic foster homes, 10 residential treatment centers, adoption services, IMPACT Plus services for Medicaid-eligible children and family counseling centers. Sunrise also offers a crisis stabilization unit in Danville and a youth support center in London.

The ministry was launched 140 years ago when a home was established in downtown Louisville to care for orphans of the Civil War. The services provided have changed as the needs of the children in the Commonwealth have changed, but the mission remains the same: to provide hope and healing to children and families through Christ-centered ministries. Currently, Sunrise serves about 400 children each day and thousands every year.
