The History Lesson:

Sunny Shum is currently enjoying a professional career as a Footwear Buyer for a major National Canadian Footwear retailer. There is no doubt her immense love for shoes and passion for the fashion industry has guided her through her successful and diverse career path.

Sunny’s foray into the fashion industry began when she got a jump start to her career by working for Aritzia, a National Canadian Fashion Retailer, as a visual merchandiser. After 4 years, this launched her into her next opportunity, managing prestigious European denim brands such as Miss Sixty, Energie, Killah and Sixty for Western Canada and also working with footwear brands like, Diesel, Ed Hardy, Faryl Robin and Le Coq Sportif.

While continuing her full time career gigs, Sunny concurrently made the time to produce fashion shows, provide marketing services for fashion related events as well as managing and contributing to her on-line magazine. Sunny quickly became the “go to” person for her network of peers and colleagues for industry insider’s tips on anything to do with fashion and lifestyle.

www.partlysunny.ca is an on-line magazine based out of Vancouver, BC for the fashion conscious and sophisticated woman, specializing in providing up to date fashion and lifestyle tips from a professional industry insider - PartlySunny is your style forecast.

Why I started partlySunny and why I do what I do:

Simply put, I am a retailers dream. Always cruising the streets, always willing to go into random stores for a look see, trying and touching everything in sight, and of course, buying every once in awhile! I am constantly reading, researching, and keeping up to date with the latest of trends across industries. I have just over 15 years of experience in the fashion business in both apparel and footwear and I travel quite a bit for work and for pleasure.

partlySunny is exactly what it means, “parts of me”. I created this site to enable me to share my experiences and my finds. The benefit of being a working business professional in the fashion industry means that I can get to you, first hand insider tips.

I am keen on anything that looks stylish. I don’t really believe in following trends, they come and go. I am simply the provider of information and it’s up to you to translate it. Being stylish to me is all about how you put something together. It’s the “entire package”, what you put out to the world. I appreciate the attention to detail and I appreciate the thought behind how a person gets themselves together everyday. On this note, I partnered up with my life muse, Paul Melo and started www.stylequotient.ca - A site that celebrates Vancouver’s most stylish personalities. Watch for us.

I can not thank you again for all the support in making partlySunny along with all my other projects a huge success. A big part of what I do is solely for the readers and loyal followers - This keeps me inspired.
