Emotional, sensitive, curious, and passionate – that’s what describes me best. I like to ponder on life and love. As far as my passions are concerned, here I am with one of those: photography. My love for and enthusiasm in photography has offered me the opportunity to document my perspective of the world.

When I walk on the streets, I use my eyes as the lens of a camera and try to capture every frame possible on the street. I believe that the first thing of importance is that one must be sensitive enough to be in the pursuit of knowledge and realisations, and not in the pursuit of great pictures to make oneself famous. That is the first step to practising photography. Then when one has the camera in hand, one starts documenting not just the world, but also himself. His work is a reflection of what he is, what he thinks, what he likes, what he wants, what he prioritises, what he hates, what he feels, how deep or superficial his wisdom is and what he wants of the world around him. So I believe my photographs tell my audience the kind of person I am.

I started photography in the month of September 2008 with a compact camera – Canon Powershot A530. On this note I must mention my gratitude to a teacher who had lent me her compact camera to practise photography to the fullest as I had no camera of my own. It was with that camera that I learnt all the basics – ISO, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, focus and focal length, composition – by carrying out hundreds of experiments day and night.

Today I have a Sony Alpha 200 and I use an 18-70 mm lens. My favourite genres in photography are Street Photography, People photography, Travel Photography, Conceptual Photography and Studio Photography. Personally I practise Street Photography, People Photography and Travel Photography. Streets and landscapes speak to me as if they are the other half of my mind.

I am a post graduate student pursuing Management studies with the aim to get into Human Resources or Management Research. Management will be my livelihood. And photography is my passion, my liberation from the mundane. In course of that, by the grace of God I have a few recognitions:

With every picture I try to improve on my previous one. My vision is to bring out the best in me. For me satisfaction is achieved when I feel happy with my photograph – which does not happen very often. I not only aim to be a laudable photographer but also a responsible, impartial, and constructive photo critic. For me photography is a passion that I want to be there with me till I breathe my last. It is something that gives me the most precious thing that any human wants – Liberty. To me it is a freedom to express my self, but taking care of the fact that no one’s privacy is intruded or no one is harmed. Photography had brought a new turn in my life. I cherish it.
